I’m That Jamie Bloke. I write, I build, and I don’t sugar coat.

I’ve been a storyteller my whole life. From turning classroom trinkets into epic heroes and villains to chasing the lifelong dream of becoming a published author, I thrive on crafting narratives.
Inspiration is everywhere. In 1999, a solar eclipse became the backdrop for a massive vampire saga set in my hometown of Northampton. But, as with most things, real life intervened—work, personal challenges—and the writing had to wait.
Then came 2020. With the world slowing down, I had the time and the focus I needed. That’s when I penned my first proper book, Loved, Lost, Laughed & Laboured—a semi-autobiographical piece about facing life’s hardships and emerging stronger.

That momentum was unstoppable. I then launched One Epic Year, a multiple-genre episodic anthology series I’d been developing for some time. Getting published was a brutal, self-taught process. I sifted through endless, empty promises of “make $10,000 a month!” schemes. I made mistakes, yes, but I found success.
I am now releasing One Epic Year periodically throughout 2026 on the days to which they relate. This Day-by-Day series is open for ARC copies and to catch up click here.
That’s why I created my own That Jamie Bloke – to provide honest, practical advice and guidance on how to self-publish without the nonsense. Check it out [here].
When I’m not writing, you might spot me (or a fleeting blur of me) in your favourite TV show or movie—I work as a Supporting Artist. I also write enchanting children’s bedtime stories for the YouTube channel Aunty Sadie, a project sparked by a very special young man.
The channel is available now and undergoing an exciting overhaul!
Currently, I’m deep into writing The Phantom Mask, a mystery noir thriller. It’s a terrifyingly enlightening process, watching my writing evolve while simultaneously scaring myself with the dark twists and turns of the plot.

But my transformation isn’t just on the page. I hold a degree in sports studies with a focus on body composition and have been hitting the gym for years. Now, I’m taking my fitness journey to the next level, with the goal of a professional photo-shoot soon. I’ll be documenting all the ups and downs of my writing and fitness journey on my blog and [Instagram], so follow along!
One Epic Year: The Story So Far (And How to Join the Crew)
The Concept One Epic Year isn’t a standard anthology. It’s a living story that features on the holidays it represents. Each day having a different genre. The goal was to create a gritty, real-time reading experience that stays with you throughout the year. So far, the journey has been intense, and we’re only just reaching…
Why I Published My First Book For All The Wrong Reasons But It Gave Me Back My Passion For Writing
This is not one of those stories of lifelong dreams, a perfectly executed plans, nope, this is a story about accidents, a little bit of panic and basically learning everything the hard way. Let’s be honest: my first self-published “book” wasn’t actually a book. It was a rushed screenplay I whacked onto KDP because I…
Training for the Lens: Why the Gym is Part of the Script
The Context I’ve spent most of my life behind a desk or buried in a draft, but as I’ve started building the That Jamie Bloke YouTube channel, I realized something: Confidence is a creative tool. It’s easy to give advice from the shadows, but showing up as a “Big Brother” figure for other self-published authors…
