Introduction

Deep below the streets of the unassuming midland town of Northampton lies the abandoned monastery, built centuries ago. In the main hall, lit only by candles, two young woman are chained to the walls, beaten and bloodied, screaming and crying for fear. In the centre of the hall is a pile of dirt, surrounded by tiled flooring.
Standing over the dirt are two cloaked figures.
They are chanting an ancient language, untranslatable to any modern language.
The dirt starts to move slowly, like it’s being disturbed from underneath.
Slowly, an almost skeletal hand emerges, finger by finger. One of the cloaked figures goes towards the hand, before being stopped by the other.
The arm comes sliding out from underneath the dirt. Skin, bone and sinew, that’s all that’s on this arm. It cracks as it bends at the elbow to place the hand on the dirt to push the rest of the body out from underneath it’s bed of dirt.
Out emerges an almost human like figure, grey skin stretched painfully over bones and barely there muscle fibres.
Every movement the body makes is accompanied with a loud crack of bones and joints. It would be human, if it wasn’t so dead looking.
One of the cloaked figures grabs a woman from her chains. She desperately tries to get away, screaming for help as she does. But she is easily overpowered by the brute in the cloak. She’s dragged towards the unhealthy looking creature that just emerged from the centre of the room. The figure throws her at the creature.
She lands on it. CRACK goes more bones and joints on impact.
She tries to run away. But the painfully slim hand that emerged grabs her ankle like a vice and she falls to the ground. Clawing at the ground to get away, the creature drags the woman towards it.
Sharp canine like teeth show from the skull of the creature and it bites down on the woman’s ankle.
Horrified by this, the other woman shrieks and screams as loud as her lungs will allow.
The creature is feeding off the blood from this poor woman’s ankle.
As it does so, it’s skin begins to fill out. Gruesomely beginning to reveal that it is more human like that first thought. The woman trying to get away stops her scrambling on the ground. In that moment of terror, she dies.
The creature, struggles to stand. It’s clearly weak, still. Head down, blood dripping from it’s mouth. It looks around the room. Though it’s only lit by candles, it’s still blinding to the creature. It looks at the remaining woman, chained against the wall, screaming to be let out.
It squares on to her from across the room, just staring at her.
And BOOM!
It leaps across the room it a vicious, animal on the hunt like way. Mouth open for when it lands on her. Which it does with precision, and bites down on her neck to feed from her too.
