Introduction
In a darkened room, light only by the sunlight coming through a shaded window, a man hangs upside down lightly swaying from side to side. He’s unconscious.
Sat in a chair nearby is a man dressed head to toe. Literally, there isn’t a part of his skin exposed to the elements of the dingy room they’re in. His name is Dr Jack Griffin, and he’s getting impatient.
“Oh my god, when is this motherfucker going to wake up?” he says to himself. Or at least we assume to it’s to himself. “I mean, I didn’t hit him that hard, did I?”
Angry, he stands and marches over to the hanging man and slaps him around the face to wake him up.
“Oh, you’re awake. Hope I didn’t disturb you”
The upside man just screams. Just shushes him and asks him what he knows about the invisibility project at Gusburn Labs. The man insists he doesn’t know and that he doesn’t even work at the lab. This makes Jack angry, he slaps him.
“I know you work there, Frank!” he screams, madness creeping in.
“My name is Steve” the upside down man replies.
“OK, I’ll be Frank. It doesn’t look good for you” Jack responds intensely.
Steve, starts to wriggle to try and escape, Jack screams as he beats him.
“Tell me about Jack Griffin!” he asks. “Jack? He’s dead” Steve replies.
“Dead? DEAD?!” Jack shouts as he takes the bandages off his face. “Do I look dead?!” he yells, showing his horribly disfigured face.
The skin is only partly there, showing off the bone, muscles, tendons, and exposed eyeball in his face.
He turns to us, the audience, so we can see the monstrosity that has been covered up all this time and asks “Do I?”.
He stops, almost shocked. “Oh, you don’t know how all this happened yet do you?” he asks us.
“Well, have I got a story for you…”
Premise
In this ten part series we follow Dr Jack Griffin, mild mannered doesn’t come close to this meek man who works at prestigious military lab, funded by The Gisburn Group. Until one day a catastrophic accident causes him to slowly and horrifically turn invisible.
It doesn’t happen instantly. It happens over time. First his skin, then sinew, then muscle, organs. Each episode and each adventure becoming more and more grotesque.
This slow turn, is what plunges him into madness. Talking to us the audience as he goes. But also getting more and more violent as he tries to find answers and a cure to make him normal again.
The only that seems like he can is Dr Andrea Poplivic, a brilliant scientist who developed the project using technology left over from the New Years Eve attack by the aliens in One Epic Year.
The only problem is, she’s being hidden for trying to speak out against the organisation after the accident happened.
But The Gisburn Group is aware that Jack is trying to find her and put a multitude of obstacles in his way while also trying to capture him for experimentation and try to replicate the results to create an army of invisible super-soldiers.
In this fourth wall breaking, visceral, horror comedy, we plunge into the madness of Dr Jack Griffin as he becomes The Invisible Man.
