On New Year’s Day, Gareth, Luke, Cal, and Dan find themselves locked in separate rooms of their old local pub, The Keeper Inn. Dan discovers he is in a room with what appears to be a bomb, but it turns out to be a homemade brewer for special beer that they drank the night before, causing their memory loss. We realize they are being watched by the landlord Gary, his wife Sandra, and their friend Jim via CCTV as they reflect on their past twenty years.

Christine, Luke’s wife, tries to find him, leading to a chance meeting with Ryan, who distracts her. The group argues but reconciles while dancing to a childhood song. They collaborate to build a Rube Goldberg machine to escape the cellar. Upon their exit, Gary, Sandra, and Jim reveal their intention was to help the friends reconnect. However, Jim remains suspicious in the background.

In a post-credits scene, Jim watches the group leave, feeling isolated until a dark figure approaches him, questioning his choices.

In Sheffield, Lucy and Lara enjoy a girls’ weekend when Lara spies their neighbour burying something large. They discover he killed his abusive wife in self-defence. As evidence is sought, Lara gets trapped, but Lucy, who is pregnant, intervenes and saves her. In a post-credits scene, Brian plots with associates to take out corrupt individuals.

After a series of confrontations, Gareth betrays and kills Brian, escapes from Cal, and plans a much larger attack with a group of Brian’s followers, which includes convincing an ally named Penny.

As the attack deadline approaches, Cal realizes that Gareth intends to blow up major internet companies. In a tense showdown, they fight, and Gareth surprisingly saves Cal from one of his own followers before the bombs detonate, causing widespread destruction and disrupting the internet. After the chaos, Cal and Lara discover that all of Gareth’s followers have been killed, leading to a revealing letter from Gareth. The episode concludes with the lads returning to their families while Gareth hides away in isolation.

In Sheffield, Lucy goes into labour, prompting Lara to rush her to the hospital. Lara tries to contact Dan, but Ryan sabotages his car, forcing them to find alternative transportation. After several failed attempts, they steal a plane from a nearby military airport, where they encounter Ryan, who transforms and fights them while Cal flies the plane.

Gareth’s first visitor is Dan’s deceased father, Dave, who shows him their childhood and how Jim brought them together and the truth about Ryan. Gareth saves his younger self from an accident and learns that Jim is actually his brother. Next, Lara shows Gareth the struggles she and Lucy are facing during labour. Lastly, a cloaked figure named DJ takes Gareth to a devastated future caused by the group’s separation and pleads for him to reunite with the others.

Gareth saves the crashing plane, and they reach the hospital just in time for the birth of Dan’s baby, named DJ, shocking Gareth.

The episode begins with an alien ship arriving in London, causing panic among the public. The main characters, the lads, realize they have been collecting rings from another planet, which grant them powers and are desired by the aliens to make Earth habitable for them. They open a portal to confront Brian, who reveals he manipulated events to unite them and save the world.

After a confrontation, the lads send Brian back in time to initiate plans that led to their current situation. When the aliens arrive and start fighting the lads, the rings transform them into armoured superheroes called The Keepers, inspiring the public to join the fight.

As they battle the aliens, they discover the aliens beam up their injured, allowing The Keepers to infiltrate the alien ship and blow it up, saving the day. The ensuing celebrations are bittersweet as everyone mourns until The Keepers return, revealing they were saved by time-traveling friends. The episode closes with New Year celebrations and a hint of troubles for Gareth and Lara regarding their unborn child.
