So, I turned 40 last month and since the pandemic I’ve decided to make some changes in my life. Chief among them is a career change, lifestyle change amongst others.

For pretty much all my life I’ve wanted to work in film and TV, I’ve had multiple ideas for TV shows over the years, but I’ve always fallen behind the excuse of “real life getting in the way”. Like working to be able to pay the bills, moving, new relationships and break ups, at one point being homeless and working my way back into having a roof over my head and some form of stability.

But since the pandemic, I’ve been blessed with the time and space to be able to work on these dreams, I’ve written a book about my life so far called Loved, Lost, Laughed & Laboured, and I’ve written a ten part TV series called One Epic Year. Which is mental. I’ve also moved into becoming an actor and supporting artist (extra for most people, we say Supporting artist to make ourselves feel better). I’ve also moved into stunt performing, taking multiple courses.

The main goal is to get One Epic Year made and on TV, the basis of the format would probably suit a streaming platform better than a broadcast channel. Which is why I’ve started moving my career into these avenues. Build up a portfolio and skillset, improve my on set experience. Basically make myself more employable to producers, agents etc.

I figured it would be easier to sell a script by someone who has on set experience, a bit of a name for himself, technical skills etc rather than someone who used to work in retail, hospitality, marketing and business analysis.

So, this my 40th year, I’m really going for it.

I’ve already been in a few things that are waiting to come out, had some great experiences and some not so great experiences on set and in the industry, but lets go for it.

This year, I want to make a showreel, improve some aspects of One Epic Year, develop some of my other ideas, maybe make a concept pitch video and concept pitch reel for One Epic Year, publish the scripts and pitch document in book form (like an annual we used to have as kids is my vision for that.
Appear in more productions that aren’t related to my own projects. Take on more stunt training courses.

Compete in races and competitions like; Tough Mudder, Inflatable 5k, Titan Games, I’m sure there’s another that I’ve booked and forgotten about and then book a few more.

Here on my website, I want to use it a medium to promote my shows and experiences in the hopes of landing an agent, producer and ultimately get my shows made.

With that said my intention is to update much more than I have done already. Including blog posts etc as means to keep people updated, keep myself on track and maybe even inspire others to make the change they’ve been dreaming about for a long time. After speaking to a friend some time ago, they suggested it’s something that could interest others and help them. So here goes!!

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy going on this journey with me, follow or subscribe to keep updated and all that jazz.
